Post With Reference
Okay, let’s go to the next topic, which is post with reference. What is this post with reference?
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!
Okay, let me just explain to you. This is a posted document, right? Let me just go to document list. FB03. This is FB03 document list. I’ll just go to the full document list. 2009. This is the list of documents, right?
Let’s say I want to post a new document, but I don’t want to post from the scratch. I want to copy from the existing document that is already posted, how am I going to do that? How can I copy this document and post again as a new transaction, as a new document. Okay, just copy this, go to maximum number of session reached, go to a different session, FB50.
Okay, just come here. You see this, go to post with reference. Yes, choose this.
Alright, document number is already chosen, but you can also enter the document number. Enter the document number that you want to copy. Now, this is the company code that you’re going to post it to, and the financial year that you’re going to post it to.
These are the different options that we have when we copy the transaction, so we copy the document number. The first is, generate reverse postings. If you tick this, the postings will be reversed, but we don’t choose any of this. We just select enter.
See this, all the documents are copied. Let me just take you to the previous one. 100, 100 to customer B. Let me just check this. This doesn’t matter, just an information message. See, 100, it’s already entered. See, this whole thing is copied here. All you have to do is just press save, and the information will be posted to a different document number.
See this, document number 10005 is posted. See this, so I have posted this document by copying information from this document. This is a posting tool. This is a posting aid.
Let’s do a reverse posting to see what happens. I go here, go to, post a reference. I choose this to see what happens. See, the postings are reversed. 12 stands for reverse invoice. It will be posted to reverse side.
Let me just go all the way here. Let’s check the postings now. This is debit, right? The original document is debit. Sorry, let me go to 5. We are copying from 5, right? 10005, so this is the one. It’s the original document. See, it’s debit, right? See, it’s reversed. The amount is reversed.
This is credit, but this is debit. That’s how the amount is reversed. Let me post it. Document is posted.
Alright, let’s check other options. What are the other options? This is to reverse. This one is only to copy the G/L account items, not the document header. Let me just prove it to you. No, this one you cannot, because other items also exist, like the posting to AR account.
Let’s check this option. This one will not propose amounts, will not copy the amounts. Let’s check it out. See, it doesn’t copy the amount. It copies only the G/L account, so you can enter your own amount.
Let’s say 300 or whatever, I can put in more information here and save it. Okay, these are the options that we have with Post With Reference. All you have to do is just come here, and choose Post With Reference, and enter the document number that you want to copy. It is as simple as that.
