SAP CO Investment

Hello everyone! In our today’s session, we’ll learn about investment accounting with respect to asset accounting. Let us see what is the course content for this session. First, we’ll learn how to create a mutual fund master using transaction code AS01, then we’ll learn about investment procurement using transaction code F90m and last, we’ll see sale of investments.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

Let us see how to create a mutual fund master using transaction code AS01. So this is the screen for AS01.

Here, we’ll have to provide the asset number for which asset will be creating a mutual fund master. Then we have to provide the general data details like a description, the asset main text, that is the description for this, that is short description for this mutual fund, and we’ll have to provide quantity as 1 and unit of measure as EA. These are the details for the general data. Likewise, we’ll maintain the data for time dependent allocations, original leasing, and depreciation areas.

So under depreciation areas, we’ll have to maintain the object keys for this area. After maintaining all these details, we’ll click on the save button, and then our mutual fund for this particular asset has been created. So this is the creation of a mutual fund using transaction code AS01.

Investment Procurement

Next, we’ll see investment procurement. Now how to create an investment procurement using transaction code F90. Also, we can go via this SAP menu path. we’ll go to accounting, then financial accounting, then fixed assets, posting, acquisition. Then we have external acquisition, where we’ll find F-90 transaction code for investment procurement.

Under this, we’ll get this particular screen, where we’ll have to maintain the details for the company code, the currency rate, the fiscal year.

Then we’ll have to maintain the details for the line items, like posting key, the account details. So, after this, we’ll press the enter button, and then we’ll get a screen where we have to maintain the line item details like amount, value date, profit center, etc.

And also we’ll have to maintain the next line item details like the key, the account details, and the transaction type. Now here we are using the transaction type as 100. So after this we’ll press the enter button. Once you press the enter button, we’ll get a screen where we have to maintain the second line item details.

So here we have maintained the amount, then additional data in which we have maintained the quantity as 99 and unit of version is EA. And here we provide that initial asset number. That is the asset number which we have used for creating the mutual fund master. So this is the asset which we have used for HDFC mutual fund master. So we’ll provide that particular asset number. So in this way, we’ll create an investment procurement for this particular asset. Now here we’ll use the transaction type as 100 for asset procurement in the initial screen for this line item. So this is how the investment procurement is done. After investment procurement, next, we’ll see how to do the sale of investments, how to do the selling of that investment term.

Sale of Investments

So here we’ll do the asset retirement with revenue with customer. So here we’ll have to provide the details for the line items. So we’ll give amount, the payment terms date, baseline date, and next line item details like posting key, account details. Here we’ll give the transaction type as 260 since it is a partial clearing transaction type. So here we’ll give 260.

After this, we’ll maintain the details for the second line item.

So here we’ll maintain the amount for this line item, the asset, the cost center, etcetera, and then press on the enter button. Now here also, we have to maintain the quantity for this particular line item. Now this is for asset retirement. So here we’ll click the checkbox asset retirement, and then we’ll click on this enter button.  Once we click on the enter button, we’ll get an asset retirement screen since we have clicked, that is, we have chosen the check box of asset retirement.

Now here we’ll use the asset number, which we have used for creating mutual fund master. Here we’ll provide that particular asset number. Then posting entries will provide transaction type as 260. Since this is partial clearing, then appropriate asset value date and quantity would be 50. So this is the retirement details. Then we’ll click on this continue button, and then we’ll save these entries. So this is how we do the sale of investments. And after that, we’ll get a document number generated for this particular investment. Now to view that investment, we’ll go to this particular screen where we can view the document number and this is the data entry view for that document with the line items. This is how we can generate a sale of investments.

Now, here we come to an end of this session for investment accounting. Now, here let us summarize what we have learned from this session. First, we have learned how to create a mutual fund master based on asset accounting using transaction code AS01. Then we have seen how to create an investment procurement with the help of an asset accounting using transaction code F90, where we have used that asset number, which we have used in. That is which we have created in mutual fund master. And last, we have seen about sale of investments where we have created an asset retirement with transaction type as 260. So these are the topics, which we have learned under this investment accounting section.
